Honoring Fran Lannon and Carolyn Kramer
For the past three years, Fran Lannon and Carolyn Kramer have generously shared their time, talents, and passion for mathematics with students at Archbishop Borders School through a Middle School Math Enrichment Program supported by Women's Education Alliance and funded through a Golfers' Charitable Foundation grant.
Through their commitment to academic excellence, Fran and Carolyn provided advanced learning opportunities that challenged students to reach their full potential and prepared them for success in high school and beyond.
Their impact is reflected in the achievements of this year's students:
Class of 2030
All three participating students completed Algebra I as seventh graders.
The students advanced to Geometry in eighth grade, with two already placed into Honors Algebra II for high school and the third awaiting placement confirmation.
One student earned an exceptional HSPT score of 713—the highest score ever recorded at Archbishop Borders School—placing him in the 99th percentile nationally.
These students consistently ranked among the top five performers on the MAP Math assessment.
Class of 2031
Two seventh-grade students enrolled in Algebra I ranked among the top three scorers on the Pre-HSPT administered this spring.
They also earned the highest scores on the school's MAP Math assessment.
These accomplishments reflect not only the dedication of the students, but also the exceptional instruction, encouragement, and high expectations provided by Fran and Carolyn.
In recognition of their service, WEA presented each educator with a commemorative recognition award honoring their contributions to student achievement and Catholic education.
As we celebrate their work, we are reminded of the words of Proverbs 31:31:
"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise."
