Student and Parent Engagement

At WEA, we believe that active collaboration between students, parents, and educators is essential for academic success and personal growth. Our Student & Parent Engagement initiatives are designed to foster open communication, set clear expectations, and provide continuous support throughout the educational journey.

Student Data Talks

  • Overview:
    Students in grades 2–8 participate in goal-setting sessions three times a year. These sessions help students reflect on their academic performance and set meaningful goals for continued success.

    What’s Included:

    • Trimester Performance Review: Students analyze their grades, attendance, and punctuality to identify areas of strength and improvement.

    • Goal Setting: Students establish specific, actionable objectives for the next trimester.

    • Peer Strategy Sharing: Students are encouraged to share study habits and strategies that have worked for them, building a culture of support and accountability.

Parent Conferences

  • Overview:
    WEA hosts 3–4 meetings each year with parents to discuss scholarship requirements, student performance, and expectations for academic growth.

    What’s Included:

    • Initial Meeting: Parents review the scholarship criteria and sign a Letter of Agreement outlining responsibilities and expectations.

    • Progress Check-Ins: Ongoing meetings track student progress in academics, attendance, and assessments, with opportunities to address concerns early.

    • At-Risk Conferences: Targeted sessions for students not meeting scholarship requirements, providing families with support plans and next steps for improvement.
