Professional Development

Investing in Teachers. Improving Student Outcomes.

Great teachers never stop learning. Women's Education Alliance (WEA) is committed to providing educators with meaningful professional learning opportunities that strengthen classroom instruction and improve student achievement.

Through partnerships with leading educational organizations, WEA equips teachers with research-based strategies they can immediately implement in their classrooms, creating engaging learning environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

WestEd Partnership

WEA proudly partners with WestEd, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education through research, professional development, and evidence-based practices.

Through this partnership, educators at WEA's partner schools participate in Formative Assessment for Classroom Teachers (FACT)—a comprehensive professional learning course designed to strengthen instructional practices and increase student engagement.

Formative Assessment for Classroom Teachers (FACT)

The FACT course helps educators:

  • Develop evidence-based instructional practices.

  • Use formative assessment to guide instruction.

  • Increase student engagement and ownership of learning.

  • Analyze student evidence to make informed instructional decisions.

  • Foster meaningful classroom discussions and feedback.

  • Reflect on instructional practices to promote continuous improvement.

Participants collaborate with colleagues throughout the learning process and immediately apply new strategies in their classrooms.

WEA's Commitment

WEA covers the cost of participation so educators can focus on professional growth rather than financial barriers.

By investing in teachers, WEA strengthens instruction across our partner schools and creates lasting benefits for thousands of students.
